Looking for the best cartoon animal illustrations? Cartoon animals are cute, funny, and sometimes even educational. They also happen to be very useful when creating cartoons or comic strips. Cartoons are often used to teach children important lessons such as reading comprehension, math skills, and social interaction. In addition, they are great tools for teaching kids about their environment and the world around them. There are several ways to create cartoon characters using Adobe Illustrator. This article shows you some simple techniques to get started.
Step 1: Create a New Document in Adobe Illustrator
The first step is to open up your new document in Adobe Illustrator. Step 2: Choose an Appropriate Size
Next, choose a size that will work best for your project. The size of the canvas should be large enough so that all of the elements on it can fit within the space without overlapping each other. For example, if you want to make a poster-sized printout of this tutorial, then you would need to use at least A3 (297 x 420 mm) paper. If you are making something smaller than that, then you may want to consider scaling down your artwork.

Step 3: Start Drawing Your Characters
Now that you have chosen a suitable size, you can start drawing your characters. You can either draw directly onto the canvas or you can use one of the many pre-made templates available from Adobe Illustrator. I prefer to draw my own characters because I like to control every aspect of the design. However, there are times when using a template makes sense. For instance, if you are working with a small piece of art, then you might find that using a template saves time.
Step 4: Add Textures
Once you have drawn your character, you can add textures to give it more depth. There are two main types of texture that you can apply to your character. One type is called a pattern. Patterns are basically just shaped that repeat over and over again throughout the entire image. These patterns can be applied by simply selecting the Pattern tool and dragging it across the area where you want the pattern to appear.

Another way to add texture is to use a brush. Brushes are similar to pens but instead of ink, brushes contain paint. To apply a brush, select the Brush tool and click once on the canvas. Then, hold down the Shift key while clicking to set the brush’s opacity. Next, drag the mouse to move the brush around the canvas. Once you are happy with how the brush looks, release the mouse button and let go of the Shift key. Now, you can begin painting with the brush.
Step 5: Apply Color
After adding colors to your character, you can adjust its color scheme. Select the Rectangle Tool and draw a rectangle anywhere on the canvas. Then press Ctrl+D to deselect the selection. Next, select the Gradient tool and click on the gradient stop located at the top right corner of the screen. Finally, change the color of the gradient stop by pressing the left arrow key until you reach the color you wish to use.

Step 6: Adjusting Colors
If you want to change the overall look of your character, you can do so by adjusting the color of the background. Click on the Background layer and then click on the foreground color swatch located at the bottom of the Layers panel. In order to remove any unwanted colors, you can also use the Eraser tool. Simply click on the Eraser icon located at the top of the Tools panel and then click on the area you wish to erase.
Step 7: Adding Details
You can now add details such as eyes, hair, clothing, etc. This step is optional depending on what kind of effect you want to achieve. For example, if your character has long hair, then you could create an outline around her head in black. Alternatively, you could fill the shape with white and then add highlights to the parts of the hair that should stand out.
