- Activate the grid (View> Show Grid) and Snap to Grid (View> Grid to Grid).
- We need a grid every 1 cm, so go to Edit> Preferences> Directories and Grids, type 1 in each grid box, and type 1 in the Subdivision box.

Note that it’s easier to work with and can be easily enabled or disabled using the keyboard shortcut Control- “.More Settings. Select RGB as the color mode, set the raster effect (72 dpi) on the screen, and click Create Document.

Pattern creates an example

There are three ways to access the Adobe Illustrator Warp Tool. The most reliable is the ShiftR shortcut. The other two are shown in the image below and depend on the version of Illustrator you are using.

Select a line with the Ctrl / Cmd A keyboard combination and grab the distorted tool. Hold down the left mouse button and place the drug on the line to deform it. The size and amount of deformation depend on the Warp tool settings that you can access by double-clicking the Warp icon on the toolbar.
