How do I use my Blush Watercolor Background?

To apply a blush watercolor background:
1) Open the file that contains your image (if you don’t have one yet, click here).
2) Select the area where you want to place the background by clicking on it with the mouse.
3) Click on “Apply” at the bottom right corner of the screen.
4) You can now see how the background looks on your picture. If you like what you see, click on “OK”. Otherwise, change the settings if necessary.
5) When you’re done editing, save your changes by clicking on “Save”, then “Close”.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to make a simple watercolor background using Photoshop CS6. This tutorial is very easy to follow and requires no previous experience. We will start by creating a blank canvas and then paint our background. Once finished, we will crop the image to remove any unwanted parts.
Step 1 – Create a New Document
Choose a size that suits your needs. For this tutorial, we chose 8 inches x 10 inches.
Step 2 – Set Up Your Canvas
Click on the “Canvas Size” tab located under the “File” menu. Choose “8×10 Inches.”

Click on the “Layer” icon in the top left-hand corner of the Layers palette. A mask should appear over your canvas. Make sure that the layer mask is selected.
Step 4 – Paint Your Background
Paint a nice smooth gradient across the entire canvas. Start with a dark blue tone and gradually move towards a lighter shade. Use the brush tool to paint the gradient.
Step 5 – Crop Out Unwanted Parts
Once you’ve painted your background, select the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M) and draw a selection around the edges of the canvas. Press Enter/Return to close the selection.
Step 6 – Remove the Selection
Select the “Layer” icon again and press Delete.
Step 7 – Save the Image
Save the image as a JPEG file.
That’s all there is to make a watercolor background!
