Use fluid ink textures as a background, if you like. Utilize them for a variety of purposes, including blogs, invitation backgrounds, planner stickers, social media branding, logos, posters, packaging, postcards, notebooks, wall art, printables, bags, and elegant business cards.

I used some of my masking fluid ink textures this time. This is extremely fantastic stuff! It begins as a fluid and then solidifies to become sticky. It sticks to the paper as I fill in the necessary places with ink blots, but as soon as the ink has dried, the masking fluid wipes off, leaving nothing except the white of the paper. If you decide to give it a try, use caution when using brushes because the masking fluid might seriously damage them. It worked incredibly nicely when I used a glass pen!

What Paper Should I use for my Art?

You may get lost in a sea of paper types, brands, textures, weights, and more if you walk into any art supply store looking for paper. Why is there such a wide variety of paper? Which kind of paper should you use for your project? When selecting the best paper for your job, many elements are at play. Let us assist you in removing the mystery around the paper selection.
Let’s start by defining a few terms that you should always keep in mind while selecting paper for any job. You undoubtedly want your artwork to remain in good condition for a very long time. Make sure the paper you choose is acid-free because this is a crucial consideration.

If the paper is not acid-free, it may deteriorate or turn yellow over time, which would impact the image. The acid that is absorbed from the air or through normal aging processes is neutralized by calcium carbonate, a buffer, in acid-free paper. With the exception of Newsprint, all of our fine art papers are acid-free. Newsprint is a very cheap paper that should only be used for practice.
You need to consider a number of different elements depending on the project you are working on and the medium you will be employing.

It would be important to consider surface texture, especially if you intended to work with multiple layers. It is challenging to layer additional colors on top of the surface of the paper once the surface tooth has been filled. In order to facilitate the process, use paper with the appropriate tooth or texture.

The paper’s weight is another thing to take into account. More layers, water, and techniques can be applied to a heavier-weight paper than a lighter-weight paper can. A team of 500 sheets that have been weighed together at the manufacturer instead of a single sheet determines the weight of the paper.

Additionally, make sure the paper is the proper size for the medium you are using. Determine whether it is internally, externally, or both internally and externally scaled. Paper is size, and gesso is used to prepare the canvas and the board. Even while some people use gesso paper to work with heavier media, we normally advise artists to use paper that is the right size for their project. This means that if you choose the proper paper that is designated for the media you decide to use, you do not need to gesso it.
